Bucerias, and the Banderas Bay Area in general, is virtually immune from hurricanes. The Bay of Banderas acts as a natural barrier, pushing the storms out to sea, or further up the pacific coast. Only once in the past 35-40 years has Bucerias and surrounding communities experienced damage from a hurricane.

The best season to visit Bucerias is from November to May, when the temperature oscillates between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius and there are no rains pouring down.
The heat and moisture increase considerably with the average temperature reaching 32 degrees Celsius during the summer (July to October). There are sporadic rainfalls in the afternoons and occasionally violent tropical storms unleash in this time of the year.
